Okay, so the new Walgreens logo (right) looks just like the Washington Nationals script W. It’s annoying, but we’re not the first people to notice it, so we won’t dwell on it.
Here are the real logo controversies:
The Orioles are going back to their cartoon bird logo, which was clearly modeled after CC Sabathia of the hated New York Yankees. In protest, Orioles fans will sit quietly at games while fans of opposing teams loudly take over Camden Yards.
Also, I’m not sure which one was around first and I’m not going to look it up because I’m not getting paid for this, but the Brewers’ classic MB Glove logo (best logo ever) was clearly inspired by the three-fingered hands in The Simpsons. Or vice versa.
I wonder if these are the four-fingered circus clowns Jim Irsay was talking about.
And finally, during the Pro Bowl, which we’re told actually happened, Nike accidentally unveiled on its Facebook page the first logo redesign for the Carolina Panthers in their 18-year existence. I’m imagining a design committee meeting lasting 18 years, in which the final result is, “Let’s turn the vampire cat’s whiskers blue.”
